Platforms: Framer

Best SEO and GEO agency
for Framer sites.

Framer pre-renders your site so crawlers get real HTML, which is a strong start. What it leaves to you decides who gets recommended: schema, content that survives interactions, titles bound to every CMS item and pages with enough words to quote. Passionfruit does that part.

How Framer sites get found now

  1. Pre-rendered, as long as it renders

Framer sites are React apps that Framer pre-renders on its servers, and crawlers that rely on static content get the optimized version. A custom code component that fails to server-render can still leave a gap, so we test the HTML each template actually serves.

  2. Answers hidden in variants may not count

Content shown only in an interaction variant, such as an accordion answer, may not get indexed. Framer’s own help recommends a collapsed variant at height 0 and opacity 0, so the text stays in the page.

  3. The first impression is an answer

A founder asking for the “best product analytics tool for a seed-stage startup” reads an AI-written shortlist in ChatGPT or Google’s AI Overviews before any website. Getting onto it takes pages that answer the question in words, not only in visuals.

What Framer does for search, and what it leaves to you

Framer takes care of hosting and rendering for you. These are the areas we check on every site: what Framer covers, and what we add.

Titles and meta descriptions

Out of the box

Set per page, and on CMS templates with variables bound to collection fields.

What we add

Every template bound to CMS fields, so each item ships its own title and description instead of the same one.

Canonicals

Out of the box

Generated automatically and following the primary custom domain, with a canonical URL setting under Domains.

What we add

The primary domain confirmed, and the live canonical checked on every template after each domain or structure change.

Sitemap and robots.txt

Out of the box

Both generated for you. On Pro plans and above, a custom robots.txt uploaded as a static file replaces the default.

What we add

Explicit rules for the AI search crawlers you want in, and a check that every page that should rank is in the sitemap.

Rendering

Out of the box

Pages are pre-rendered on Framer’s servers, and crawlers that rely on static content get the optimized version.

What we add

Every key template tested with curl and a crawler user agent, and code components fixed when they fail to server-render.

Structured data

Out of the box

No automatic Article or Product schema. JSON-LD is added by hand through custom code.

What we add

Organization, Article, FAQ and SoftwareApplication JSON-LD injected through custom code on each template, and checked in the live HTML.

Redirects

Out of the box

Managed in project settings. Rules match URL strings, so they must be updated when slugs change.

What we add

Redirect rules audited after every restructure, with a redirect for every URL we change.

International

Out of the box

Localization adds hreflang and supports translated slugs and paths.

What we add

Copy, titles and descriptions adapted to how people search in each market, not just translated.

AI crawlers and llms.txt

Out of the box

An llms.txt and .well-known files can be uploaded as static files on Pro plans and above. Framer does not generate an llms.txt for you.

What we add

An llms.txt as low-cost hygiene, and the work that matters more: crawler access, content in the pre-rendered HTML and pages with answers to quote.

How AI engines read a Framer site

These are the five places an engine draws on when it describes your product. On Framer, the first two come down to what pre-rendering and your CMS templates put in the HTML.

  1. Framer’s pre-rendered HTML

Crawlers such as OAI-SearchBot and PerplexityBot read the optimized version Framer serves. Text in click-only variants, or from a component that fails to server-render, can be missing from it. We check each template with curl.

  2. Your CMS templates

Blog posts, comparisons and use cases all take their title, description and markup from a template. Leave one field unbound and the same text repeats on every item. We bind each one and check the output.

  3. Google’s index

AI Overviews and AI Mode are built on Google’s own crawl, so classic Framer SEO still feeds them: one canonical per page, a unique title on every item and content in the HTML.

  4. Review sites and comparisons

Software shortlists in AI answers draw heavily on G2, Capterra and roundup articles. We keep track of your presence there and pitch for a place in the lists engines quote.

  5. Reddit and buyer communities

Founders and buyers ask Reddit, Slack groups and LinkedIn which tool to pick, and engines read those threads too. A young company earns a place there by answering openly and helpfully, and that is how we take part.

Search problems Framer sites face

The issues we find on almost every Framer site we audit, each with the fix.

  1. 01FAQ answers that live only in click variants

Accordion and tab content shown only after a click may not get indexed. We use the collapsed variant Framer recommends, at height 0 and opacity 0, or render the answers open.

  2. 02Every CMS item with the same title

Template titles and descriptions left unbound ship the same text on every item. We bind title and meta to CMS fields on each template.

  3. 03No schema

Framer adds no Article or Product markup on its own. We inject Organization, Article, FAQ and SoftwareApplication JSON-LD through custom code on each template.

  4. 04Code components that break pre-rendering

A component that reaches for the browser while it renders can fail on the server and leave a gap in the HTML. We fix the optimization warnings and confirm the HTML with curl.

  5. 05Redirects that break after a restructure

Redirect rules match URL strings, so renamed slugs leave old links pointing nowhere. We audit the rules after every change and add one for each moved page.

The tools you run, and where they stop

Framer teams tend to lean on a few of these. Each makes something easier, and none of them checks the result the way an engine reads it.

Framer’s built-in SEO

Their gap
Framer markets SEO and AEO as built in, and its settings cover titles, canonicals, sitemaps and pre-rendering. What they cannot show is whether AI engines recommend you, or which competitor they name.
Your opening
We track that prompt by prompt and work on what changes it.

Marketplace plugins

Their gap
They fill gaps Framer leaves, from llms.txt files to schema snippets. Each solves one piece, and few check that the whole page reads cleanly to a crawler.
Your opening
We set up the pieces that matter and test the live HTML.

Custom code components

Their gap
They add features beyond the built-in components, from calculators to embeds. A component that fails to server-render leaves a gap in the HTML crawlers read.
Your opening
We fix the warnings and check what each page actually serves.

Site templates

Their gap
They get a polished site live quickly, and many lead with imagery, motion and short lines of copy. Engines quote sentences, tables and FAQs.
Your opening
We add answer-first sections and comparison tables without changing the design.

The Framer program, part by part

Each part of the program is built for how Framer works: pre-rendered React pages, interaction variants, CMS templates and the custom code around them.

Content

Problem, solution and buyer’s guide articles in the CMS, with question-style headings and direct answers as text rather than in click variants. Hub pages and internal links give the articles a clear structure, so engines see a body of expertise rather than single posts.

Why Framer teams work with Passionfruit

Framer takes care of hosting, pre-rendering, sitemaps and canonicals, and makes a polished site quick to ship. What is left is the work that decides who gets recommended, and it sits across the templates, the copy, the schema and the rest of the web.

Passionfruit Intelligence maps your company’s presence in ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google’s AI answers, the competitors named instead and the sources behind each answer. Our team then ships the fixes: template bindings, schema, content crawlers can read, comparison and use-case pages, and the off-site work engines trust.

We work inside your Framer project with your team’s approval, keep the design you built, and measure every change against pipeline, not just rankings.

What we measure

  • Signups and pipeline from organic search and AI referrals, by page
  • Share of AI answers naming you for the prompts your buyers use
  • Templates passing a curl check with full content in the HTML
  • CMS items with unique, bound titles and descriptions

Questions

Is Framer good for SEO?

Yes, for the technical basics. Framer pre-renders pages on its servers and generates canonicals, a sitemap and robots.txt. What it leaves to you is schema, titles bound to every CMS item, content that survives interactions and pages with enough text to quote.

Can Google index Framer sites?

Yes. Framer sites are React apps that Framer pre-renders, and crawlers that rely on static content get the optimized version. Custom code components that fail to server-render are the exception, so we confirm each key template with curl.

Why isn’t my Framer accordion content getting indexed?

Content shown only in an interaction variant may not get indexed. Framer’s own help recommends a collapsed variant at height 0 and opacity 0, so the text stays in the page; rendering the answers open works too.

Does Framer add schema markup?

Not automatically. Framer adds no Article or Product schema, so JSON-LD is added by hand through custom code. We inject Organization, Article, FAQ and SoftwareApplication markup on each template.

Does Framer generate an llms.txt?

No. On Pro plans and above you can upload an llms.txt as a static file. We treat it as low-cost hygiene rather than a ranking lever, and spend the effort on crawler access and content.

Why do all my Framer CMS pages have the same title?

The template’s title and description are not bound to CMS fields, so every item inherits the same text. We bind both to fields on each template.
