About the client

A US activewear brand built around soft, size-inclusive apparel for women and men, in sizes up to 4XL, sold direct to consumers online.

Most of its organic visibility came from people already searching the brand's name. The work set out to grow non-branded discovery across high-intent collection pages and content, so organic search would bring in more new customers.

The challenge

01

Discovery leaned on the brand name

Most organic clicks came from branded queries. The non-branded searches that bring in new customers, for leggings, sports bras and plus-size ranges, were under-developed.

02

Revenue pages were thinly optimized

Collection and category pages lacked the headings, meta descriptions and on-page content needed to rank and convert on non-branded terms.

03

Visibility outpaced clicks

Impressions were rising, but average positions sat in the high 20s and click-through stayed low, so growing visibility wasn't yet turning into revenue.

What we did

Refine the pages that earn revenue, publish into new demand, strengthen the site's structure, and build authority off-site.

  1. Refine the revenue pages

    30+ collection pages

Rewrote headings and meta descriptions across more than 30 collection and category pages, from leggings and sports bras to plus-size and maternity ranges, around the non-branded queries buyers actually run.

  2. Publish into new demand

    Blog clicks +13%

Launched a fitness content category with five workout guides, widening top-of-funnel coverage beyond product searches.

  3. Strengthen the structure

    Site health 0.72 to 0.75

Improved technical health and routed internal links toward high-intent revenue pages, so authority flowed to the collections that sell.

  4. Build off-site authority

Placed answers and profiles on high-authority domains, including Quora, to strengthen signals for priority terms.

The outcome

Organic search now brings in a larger source of new-customer revenue, with non-branded discovery growing faster than branded.

Why it worked

No single change carried the month. Non-branded discovery, ranking footprint and conversion quality all improved together, which is what a repeatable program on the highest-intent pages produces, and it came while most competitors lost ground.
