About the client

A US beauty-technology brand selling FDA-cleared light-therapy devices for at-home use, sold direct and through retail.

Organic search already drew substantial traffic, but it was measured in informational visits rather than revenue. At the same time, buyers were starting to ask AI engines which device to buy, and the site's pages weren't structured to be the answer those engines cite.

The challenge

01

Rankings and revenue ran separately

High-volume informational content ranked well, but the visits rarely converted. Discovery and revenue were tracked as two systems, so the content drawing the most traffic was never judged on what it sold.

02

Demand was moving to AI answers

Buyers increasingly ask ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity which skincare device to buy. The pages weren't structured to be surfaced as the cited answer, so the brand was under-represented where those decisions start.

03

Thin schema and conversion structure

Few pages carried FAQ schema or definitional content. That limited eligibility for rich results and AI citation, and left click-through and conversion unrealized on pages that already ranked.

What we did

Structure each page so search and AI engines can parse it, answer the questions buyers ask, convert visits on the money pages, and hold authority with off-page work.

  1. Structure

266 SEO tasks in 60 days

Added FAQ schema and definitional-first content to priority pages, so both Google and AI engines can parse and cite each one. The work ran at volume: 266 SEO tasks completed inside a 60-day window.

  2. Answer

    Rosacea page revenue +35.7%

Wrote FAQ blocks aimed at People Also Ask questions and rewrote priority pages to define the topic first. On the rosacea page, click-through rose from 0.92% to 1.43% (+55%), the cleanest attribution of the cycle.

  3. Convert

    Collection revenue from zero

Rewrote meta titles, tagged products and added content to collection pages. One device collection went from 5 to 20 clicks (+300%) and from 87 to 593 impressions (6.8x), and recorded its first organic revenue.

  4. Reinforce

    36 placements, average DA 60.1

Secured 36 authority placements at an average domain authority of 60.1 (highest 82) and consolidated internal links. That held domain strength steady while overall impression volume softened.

The outcome

Organic search is now measured on revenue and AI answer position together, and revenue has grown in back-to-back months. The next phase extends schema and definitional content across the full product and collection catalog.

Why it worked

Pages structured to be parsed get cited, and pages that answer the question get clicked. Treating search and AI answers as one system, then pointing conversion work at the money pages, tied ranking gains to revenue instead of to traffic.
