About the client

A direct-to-consumer travel and lifestyle brand in India selling luggage and bags for everyday movement: hard-shell cabin and check-in trolleys in aluminum and polycarbonate, backpacks, laptop bags, sling bags and travel accessories. It sells through its own store, and its range and brand recognition were already established.

The open question was whether organic search could become a serious acquisition and revenue channel, capturing luggage demand across Google and the AI answer engines that Indian buyers increasingly use to compare travel gear. Visibility alone would not answer it: the test was whether search could produce tracked conversions and revenue the business could see month by month, including revenue attributed to AI search.

The challenge

01

Organic was a modest channel

In April 2025 search drove 3,822 clicks a month from 286,168 impressions. For an established travel brand, organic was barely contributing to growth or revenue.

02

High-traffic pages weren't converting

Large editorial pages pulled hundreds of thousands of impressions at click-through rates below 0.4%. The visibility existed; it wasn't turning into clicks or revenue.

03

Content and product were disconnected

Blog readers had no path into the catalog, and category pages lacked the structured data Google and AI engines reward. Good rankings never turned into sales.

What we did

Publish into demand, structure the site for Google and AI engines, embed the products, then convert the impressions already won.

  1. Publish

1,162 new clicks in month one

Shipped five new articles into high-intent travel and luggage searches. All five ranked from a cold start, giving the site new organic entry points across the funnel within their first month live.

  2. Structure

    Backpack collection from zero revenue

Rolled out FAQPage, HowTo, Product and CollectionPage schema and consolidated overlapping category clusters into the structure Google and AI answer engines reward. The backpack collection went from zero revenue to earning on the strength of schema alone.

  3. Embed

    Blog-to-product funnel live

Added product widgets to more than 10 high-traffic blog posts, opening a blog-to-product-page funnel that hadn't existed. The widgets sit inside posts readers were already finding through search. A single editorial page produced the funnel's first non-branded revenue, proving the path from reader to buyer.

  4. Convert

    Aluminum collection CTR +24%

Ran two cycles of meta-title rewrites across top pages to turn an existing impression base into clicks. The rewrites broadened impressions and lifted click-through: the aluminum luggage collection's click-through rate rose 24% in relative terms, and one cluster's clicks grew 71.5%.

The outcome

Organic search is now a core acquisition and revenue channel for the brand in India, with AI search reported as a revenue line of its own. The same system is set to run through each travel season ahead.

Why it worked

No single page carried the result. Publishing created surface, schema made that surface legible to Google and AI engines, and product embeds and click-through work turned it into revenue. Because each step runs on the output of the last, the system repeats month after month.
